The follow up
When you get a business card from someone who you want to follow up on, write on their card the specifics of what you talked about or their interests. Always follow up on these leads, you don’t want to have gone to all of that trouble for nothing. When sending the follow up email it is somewhat like the dating game - you don’t want to seem too keen but at the same time, you don’t want them to forget the good conversation you had! As a rule, don’t wait much longer than a day to send a follow up. Your email should fit the tone of the conversation you had with each person and don’t forget to add the useful details that you will have written on each card.
